Dropshipping websites in Bangladesh: what to look for

How to judge a dropshipping website or platform for Bangladesh — taka pricing, COD, bKash and Nagad, courier booking, supplier sync and real support.

"Dropshipping website" means two different things: the shop your customers buy from, and the platform that runs it. This guide is about judging the platform, because the platform decides what your shop can actually do.

We build one of these, so read the criteria rather than the verdict — then apply them to us too.

01The criteria that matter in this market

Storefront templates are not the differentiator. Payments, courier and supplier sync are.

  • Prices, checkout and reporting native in taka — not a converted display
  • Cash on delivery as a first-class payment method
  • bKash and Nagad with your own merchant credentials, so money lands in your account
  • Courier booking and live parcel status inside the order record
  • Supplier connection with your own API key, with stock and cost sync
  • A storefront that works on a mid-range phone on mobile data
  • Support that answers in Bengali on a channel you already use

02Two platform models, two trade-offs

Ready-stock resellers hold local inventory and give you fast delivery on a fixed catalogue. Operating platforms give you sourcing, your own brand, your own payments and the tooling — and expect you to run the shop.

Fast delivery on someone else's catalogue, or your own brand with wider sourcing. Both are legitimate; they are different businesses.

03Five questions to ask before you commit

Ask these of any platform, including ours.

  • Whose payment account does customer money land in?
  • Can I export my products and customers if I leave?
  • What happens to my listings if I downgrade the plan?
  • Is the supplier connection mine, or the platform's shared account?
  • Where does the storefront live, and can it carry my own domain?

04Where DropShop BD sits

DropShop BD is the operating layer: your own supplier connections, your own payment credentials, taka pricing with margin control, Pathao booking, a branded storefront on dropshop.bd, and agent control through MCP for sellers who want to automate.

We do not hold stock for you. If your priority is next-day delivery from a local warehouse on a fixed catalogue, a ready-stock reseller fits better.

Questions

Is a Facebook page enough to start?
It is enough for your first orders and still the main discovery channel here. It is not enough for stock accuracy, courier booking or payment reconciliation at volume.
Do I need my own domain?
Not to start. A branded store URL works; a custom domain helps once the brand is worth protecting.
Can I run more than one store?
One store per account on DropShop today. Product catalogues, pricing and payments are per store.
